Tinker, Nike and the entire basketball world were convinced that we would no longer see Michael Jordan playing basketball. He found his peace in baseball, with the number 45 on his back, but he was not as successful as he was playing basketball. 

Tinker was convinced that Mike was out for good, so in honor of his career, he etched all of his greatest achievements from 1985 to 1994 to the sole of his new model: 85 ROOKIE OF YEAR,, 86 63 POINTS, 87 SCORING TITLE, 88 DUNK CHAMP, 89 ALL DEFENSE, 90 SCORES 63 POINTS, 91 MVP / CHAMPIONSHIP, 92 MVP / CHAMPIONSHIP, 93 MVP / CHAMPIONSHIP, 94 BEYOND.

Jordan X is the only model that Michael did not fully approve of but was nevertheless released. Even though top-fitting straps were very popular in those days, Nike & Jordan opted for a different direction and offered a completely clean upper part without any accessories at all. Jordan X featured the number 45 instead of 23 on the back side when Mike returned, as the number 23 jersey was already retired.

And in 1995, specifically on March 18, it happened. We dreamed of it and wanted it, but we still doubted that it could ever happen. Through his agent, Jordan informed the world in just two words: "I'm back!" And the sports world desperately needed him to return to the game. The American Major Baseball League was in the middle of a strike, the American Hockey League was in the middle of a lockout, and OJ Simpson was in the middle of a lawsuit for the murder of his wife and her partner.

And he did it, as was common in those days, by fax. Imagine if Facebook, Twitter and other social networks existed in those days? Well, probably the internet would crash ...
